Lets get started

The first thing we need to do is research the project. This is very important as you want to know the boat your building is for you.
Look at what your going to use it for and try a pick a desgin that suits you. I have gone with the rebel as with enough horsepower it can pull a skeir or doghnut or other water toys.
A very good site for research is the Glen L site. They have a really good fourom on there too with lots of helpfull folks.
Also there are some books that will be needed.

Boatbuilding-with-plywood? for me is near dam essential

If your into sail then look for Buehler's Backyard Boatbuilding . this gent wrote the book on budget boat building and I would be happy taking any of his boats out into deep blue water.

For kayacks or cannoes then Canoecraft or his kayack book

Welcome to the first post of boat building on a tight budget

This blog has been started to share my budget boat building adventures. I hope to be able to build a 1960's style ski boat for under £1500.
The boat in question is a Glen L design called the Rebel and can be seen Here. I am going to differ from the desgin by using cheaper timber that is readley available from the diy and builders merchants rather then use more traditional and expansive timbers.
